How the app makes money

Farmer subscriptions (M-Pesa / MoMo)

Micro-payments of KES 150 or UGX 5,000 a month collected through M-Pesa Daraja, Airtel Money or MTN MoMo. Even 1% conversion of 100,000 users is about KES 150,000 a month.

Agrovet & input-supplier listings

Verified agrovets and seed/fertiliser companies pay a monthly listing fee to appear in their region, plus commission on referred sales.

Expert consultation commission

Take 10–15% of every paid vet or agronomist consultation booked through the app, settled to the expert weekly.

Institutions, NGOs & data

Schools and colleges license the student hub per term; NGOs, county governments and insurers pay for anonymised, aggregated agronomic insight dashboards. Sponsored advisory content from certified brands is a fourth stream.

How farmers reach the app

A simple web link — no app store needed

  • Publish the project and it gets a public link (yourname.lovable.app) that opens on any Android or iPhone browser. You can later point your own domain, e.g. mkulima.co.ke.
  • Farmers can tap “Add to Home screen” so it behaves like an installed app, with no download cost.
  • Share the link by WhatsApp groups, SMS, county extension officers, farmer co-ops, church and chief barazas, radio mentions and a printed QR code at agrovet counters.
  • Later growth: a WhatsApp bot and USSD/SMS fallback for farmers on feature phones.
